HENRY
ALBERT FAMILY
Luella Jenkins’ first marriage was to Henry A. Albert of Lawrence County, Illinois in 1896. Henry A. and Luella Albert have two sons: Herbert O. Albert and Ranie B. Albert. Herbert O. Albert- a farmer most of his life-died in 1978 and was interred at the Lincoln Memorial Park cemetery near Montgomery, Illinois. Ranie B. Albert, age 92, also a retired farmer, lives in Southern Illinois with his son, Cleo Albert.
Herbert O. Albert married Pearl M. Keneipp of Saline County, Illinois in 1925. Herbert O. and Pearl Albert have one son, Dallas Kendall Albert, born in 1927. During the 1930’s, Herbert O. Albert worked as a farmhand on various farms in the Oswego, Illinois area, including a large beef cattle farm near Oswego, owned by Glen Leigh.
Dallas Albert married Loretta J. Cobb of Memphis, Tennessee in 1953. Dallas and Loretta Albert, who live in Naperville, Illinois, have on son, John David Albert, and one daughter, Patricia Michelle Dalke. Dallas Albert is retired chemist from the Amoco Corporation. He now spends much of his time at his 38-acre place in Pope County, Southern Illinois where many of his farming ancestors were raised.
Dallas Albert’s great grandfather, David Albert, was born in New Jersey. In later years, David Albert moved to Coshocton County, Ohio where he bought a farm. There David Albert married Sarah Wagoner of Coshocton County in 1845. Shortly after David and Sarah Wagoner Albert’s marriage, they moved to Lawrence County, Illinois where their three children were born one of whom was Henry A. Albert.
Henry A. Albert moved to Pope County, Illinois in the 1890’s where he met and married Luella Jenkins, as noted previously. However, shortly after Henry and Luella Albert’s two sons were born, the marriage ended. Luella Albert then married Samuel S. Stalions in 1904 as also mentioned previously.
