FARM FAMILY HISTORIES

Naperville has a rich history pertaining to the farmers in the area, past and present. This site and its contents commemorate those hardy men and women who worked so hard to bring Naperville from a prairie wilderness to the thriving city it is today. This collection of some 200 family histories are but a sampling of those who contributed to the development of the Naperville Area. 

These histories were originally completed by a committee of the WPMA including Lenore McDonald, Ruth Hageman, and Sis Weisbrock in 1983. Various family members have contributed additional histories through the years. 

In 2002, students in the Agriscience Internship program at Naperville North High School reviewed and rewrote the histories to establish a standard format for this site, under the guidance of John Bushman, Agriscience Coordinator. An original printed copy of these histories is maintained in the office of Community Affairs of Naperville Community Unit School District 203 and in the archives of WPMA.
